François Vitrani

François Vitrani is Managing Director of the Maison de l’Amérique Latine / Latin America House, in Paris (FR), founded in the wake of the Resistance, in 1946, to develop exchanges between France and Latin America countries. He was Director of the non-profit organization FPL Fonds pour une presse libre, Treasurer of the Friends Association representing small shareholders of the publication Le Monde Diplomatique, and Director of the Médiapart Friends Society. François Vitrani is President of the ITM Institut du Tout-Monde, created in 2006 by Édouard Glissant with the aim of “encouraging the cultural and social practice of creolizations, promoting the imaginations of peoples knowledge in their diversity”. The Institut du Tout-Monde is the organizer of the Carbet Caribbean literary prize, and an institutional partner of the Edouard Glissant Art Fund for the Maison Édouard Glissant management and its associated artistic residency activities.
