Azzedine Saleck, new resident at Édouard Glissant House

Congratulations and huge welcome to Azzedîne Saleck [Photo], new resident at Maison Édouard Glissant / Édouard Glissant House, from Sept. 15/16th 2025.

Azzedine Saleck, born in 1987, Paris (FR), is a poet and artist of Mauritanian and American descent. Raised between Mauritania and France, he explores walls and doors as physical and symbolic barriers, in relation to migration, postcolonial dynamics, and surveillance technologies. His sculptures, poems, and installations create spaces where language and form intertwine to open up zones of intimacy and emotional resonance.

Residency will take place at Maison Édouard Glissant / Édouard Glissant House (Le Diamant, Martinique), a location awarded by the French Culture Ministry with the ‘illustrious house / Maison des illustres’ label.

Art residency supported by Direction des affaires culturelles (DAC) Martinique – Préfecture de Martinique, Institut du Tout-Monde (ITM) and Edouard Glissant Art Fund (EGAF).
Thank you to Audrey Phibel, Andréa Janvier, DAC Martinique, ITM and EGAF teams.
